Queen’s Blade Rebellion Yumiru

Posted by ELTboy on November 6, 2009

Megahouse officially announced a new figure in the form of Yumiru from their line of Excellent Core Model series. The figure is 1/8 scale and is scheduled for sales release in March 2010 for a retail price of 6,800 yen. Yumiru hails from Queen’s Blade Rebellion and is the 4th figure from the series after Annelotte, Mirim and Yuito.

I already owned a figure of Yumiru in her 2P colors from the original Queen’s Blade series. But this gothic style outfit worn by her in the Rebellion series is very appealing. I guess this is because I fancy gothic style outfits on figures. The double axes she is wielding are also pretty nice.

The things that I don’t like about the figure though are her pose and rather stoic face. I am not a sucker for dynamic poses but  in my opinion, this is a figure that definitely needs a more dynamic one than the one she is adopting. And although she is sculpted by the same sculptor of the original Yumiru figure, the face looks somewhat indifferent and not as good as the original one.

So I guess I am 50-50 on this figure and will probably sit on her and decide later when she is released. I will probably risk missing out on her but I guess I don’t wish to pay full retail price for her either. ^^”

Yeah, pretty costume spoilt by the pose and face. But reading Blowfish’s comments, I guess the figure is very much in line with the character. So I am at peace with that now. ^^

  2. I already have a Yumiru … but I think buy that version too, because like you. I like gothic costume. :)

  3. Haha I guess everybodies in the same position as you ^^;;;
Preordered here and Ill decide later on if Ill really take her with me.

I dont wanna spoiler you but the Rebellion Yumiru has experienced a characterchange due to circumstances I wont explain and that probably explains her facial expression aswell as pose. Its in line with her new character.

Oh and If im correct she comes with a second head that has a faint smile on her lips.I dont know if that makes her more attractive though. Her pose is what turns her down

Thanks for the info on Yumiru… I guess we always like the figures to be reflective of a character’s nature. So Yumiru must have had a dramatic experience since she is so noisy in the current anime…LOL. Knowing that now, I probably prefer the expressionless face now. ^^”

Still going to hold off her for now, but it’s good to know the figure is true to her character.

I like the Gothic dress. I think I have seen another Yumiru figure but with different colors (aqua-ish…)

I think that will be Yumiru in her original colors. Megahouse releases so many different color variants of their QB figures that one can get confused…the most famous being Echnida who has countless color variants.

She looks great, but I’m passing on her because I’ve got this thing against rambunctious lolis. Yeah, yeah, I know, dwarf, not loli. I’ve got a thing against dwarves too. I only played Alliance in World of Warcraft and I only played humans, draenei, and night elves, never a dwarf.

I’m still wondering what it’s going to take to get MegaHouse to make a figure of Irma.

I have a feeling Irma will come very soon. With the airing of season 2 of the anime where she gets a bit of screen time, this should be the best time to make a figure of her.

I like her, but her hair kinda miss on this one. Comparing between original Ymir (2P or not), her head and hair ratio seem off. :-p I don’t know if I describe it right.

So, I… *think* I’m gonna pass on this one.
