Konnichiwa … ELTboy desu! Welcome to ELTWorld … a surreal place about my hobby life where I share my infatuated passion on Japanese animes and anime figures. I am what Japanese folks will refer to as an anime & figure otaku.

For visitors who might be wondering, the name ELT originates from my favorite J-pop group, Every Little Thing. They are significant in making me becoming interested in the Japanese culture more than I ever was and thus I decided to name my blog after them.

Though J-pop got me interested and more aware of the Japanese pop culture, my path to otaku-ness actually started young where I was an avid manga reader. I was practically reading any manga that I could get my hands on. From reading mangas, I then got into animes. But as I progressed through schools at various levels, my passion for manga and animes started to wither and for a few years, they became the least important things in my life.

Then I was introduced to ELT by a friend and from J-pop, I rekindled my interest in animes (mangas never came back though, although I would still enjoy a read occassionally). But then, as I enter working life and became, the interest again died down for a while. A chance watching of Rurouni Kenshin, Shaman King, followed by Bleach started to bring everything back again. So it really was an on-off love affair with animes for me, although I can safely say for now that my passion for anime is definintely going to stay for good now. Figures came into my life fairly recently in late 2007. But it’s a passion that has been growing ever since and I am now the proud owner of a sizeable and ever growing collection. I understand the hobby cycle where one day, this passion might well died down. But as it is for me currently, my figures mean the world to me and I would like to believe that this hobby interest will go on forever.
